Default Knowing the job title you want to apply for

Ok. There is a pretty blurry line in what potential employers call a designer and a front end web developer.
If you aim to go into a small outfit - remember you might have to wear a few hats - and in the interview stage clarify exactly what you will be doing if you were to be offered the job.

Here is a brief outline of what a designer and front end deleloper and WEB designer do.

Designer - Works solely on the design of projects. Maybe print - web - mobile etc.

Front end developer - Works on the CSS HTML JAVA AJAX and whatnot. Also will dabble with photoshop as they are usually borderline visual and code types.

Web Designer - The worst job title to get ever. This can mean ANYHING. Basically to design a web site is to design visually and build. So design in a app like photoshop - convert to css and html and maybe looking at flash and actionscript.

Hope this clears up a few things for employers.
