Default Designing a cosmetics catalogue - have questions!

Hi all,

I'm designing a cosmetics catalogue for one of the clients that I freelance for. I'm getting color swatches of all of the cosmetics... the catalogue will be printed 4-color/process, no spots.

Because there will be at least one hundred of them (cosmetic color swatches), I'm not quite sure how this will work when it goes to print, or how to approach it. Is it common to provide the printer with the swatches, so that they can make adjustments on press? Should I match the swatches as closely as I can, wait for the printer proof, and then make adjustments from there? Is there a way to scan them in on the chance that some of them are metallic?

Clearly, this is new territory for me. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Merci,
Amanda/AJ
