I guess alyCe has a good point of view. It's not really a logo. The simplest logos have text (like this tutorial) and a little piece of graphic with them. This is indeed a text effect tutorial, not a text logo one. but it has 2 things that begginers should know, 1 is the reflection effect and 2 is the gradient effect.
