I would like your opinion on what publishing tool you like the most. Pretty much everyone has heard about Wordpress, but are there other gems out there?
What I'm using: I've been at Wordpressuser for a long time, but suddenly, I discovered Textpattern, and fell in love. Textpattern is a nice, small publishing tool with great image handling. Wordpress lacks the possibility for adding an article image, or to make the same image a tumbnail. Which Cms do you perferm and why? |

I would say WordPress, because its an industry standard and there is a lot of support for it and tons of plugins that can help your site immensely.

I would have to say WordPress too. It was easy for me to set up (only took a few minutes) and after it was set up it looked professional. Once i get a host and domain, wordpress will have even more options.

Wordpress is really great, but I really miss some good image-handling. Adding a field ofr article-image with the choice of full/tumbnail-version would've done it in my case.
![]() Altought, I would like to try even more systems out there. I've heard good things about Expression Engine, Movable Type, etc, but Textpattern really appeals to me cause it only exists of 150 files. It's therefore very quick to get up and running. |

That's right. I would also recomend http://forum.textpattern.com/, as they have extreamly good and nice support. They've helped me through loads of design problems.

I'm currently using sNews, a small light weight(1 PHP file) CMS. I love it more because it's open source and super easy to integrate into any design you have.

I haven't tried WordPress out so much, but I've been using Textpattern for well over a year now, and I'll never switch (unless I build my own some day). The tag-language is wonderful and pretty much logical when you want to learn it. The community and the developers are nice and you don't have to fight your way in to it to get help or to make a request or plugin. , the plugins are just wonderful. There's plugins for the biggest issues that Textpattern doesn't handle, and when new ones show up, there's new plugins. Many of the early plugins have turned in to features in Textpattern.
