I highly recommend that you guys subscribe to Print magazine and I.D. I just got the tow latest issues of them both and they are awesome and extremely informative!

Mine say February 2008 were like 2 months ahead lol. I need to subscribe to the magazines though its much cheaper then getting them each time at the book store, although I do like looking around the store once in a while.

Maybe it has something to do with time-differences XD
I also read (and love) i-D (not to be confused with i.d.). It's not graphic design, but fashion, but it has great design (both clothwise and layout/typographica) and so it deserves a mention

Your right Gino I know it is important to get into a magazine, I just haven't found one to my liking as of yet. I mean something that I would get annually. Certainly I have other magazines that don’t pertain to design per say, I just like the way they are laid out monthly and I use them for inspiration and layout ideas. Primarily I use the web and resources like the ones here for the In-depth info I need concerning the industry. I will however have a look at the ones posted here who knows.

http://www.computerarts.co.uk/ - Computer Arts (UK based, but I think you can get it overseas too), graphic design, but leans more towards graphic arts, tutorials and aesthetics than "functional graphic design. Has a sister magazine, Computer Arts Project, which has a different theme each month. Some of the latest has been illustration, typography, character design, street art, black&white, next up is graphics and fashion (looking forward to that, yees! Very nice website too, with forum, gallery, downloads and lots of great tutorials.

http://www.grafikmagazine.co.uk/ - Grafik, graphic design too, website is under construction as of now. I don't have as much experience with this one, but seems like it's more "old-school" (not as a bad thing) graphic design, where design is in focus with just as much enthusiasm as the aesthetics.

http://www.idonline.com/ - I.D, with the subheadline of "graphic design, production design, architecture. I haven't read much in this myself, very welldesigned website.

And just for you, UpandUp, since you are living across the pond:

Great post alyCe thanks and yes Michael it is hard to find the right magazines and there really aren't too many to choose from, but the ones that are around are pretty good.

Since I run a graphic design blog too I find them especially useful for staying up to date with news, events, design culture and so on.
