Lightbulb Website Mock-up Critique

I work for a company that officially represent many celebs. Both living and dead. We creative websites for most of them. I've attached a mock up for a new client. Notorious B.I.G. The website will hopefully be an informative website for all things Notorious B.I.G. Just wanted everyone's thoughts on the first mock up.

Looks pretty good. The header is the best but as you go down it doesn't look as good. The arrow in the footer needs some work.

You need to ask yourself a few basic questions about the most prominent elements of your website, arrows:

what is the function of arrows at it's most primitive?
-It points at things

Why does it point at things?
-to mark where we should look or go

What does the most prominent arrow point at
-....an ad.

So your design, with alot of nifty features and probably some interesting content says "hey, look at this AD!!! It's über cool, click it!" - and whoosh you lost someone from your site.

Yeah...I was never 100% sold on the arrow at the bottom. I didn't have the arrow on another version mock that I liked a little better. What I'll probably end up doing will be taking that arrow out of that left side column and leave it for some negative space to let the eye rest a bit. I do like the flat blue part...just not sold on the arrow part. It's still a work in progress and it has not yet been presented to the estate. I've just been trying to get a head start on things.

Making the site look 'Urban' was also another chalenge that I had. I didn't want to make it too...for lack of better word...."Ghetto"....what's everyone's thoughts about that?
