Hello,

I am trying to make a logo for myself but I can't seem to find the inspiration to get a general idea. The letters I want to use is K K for my first and last name. Any Idea? I want it simple and obviously with typography.

I did sketch but I don't have any inspiration I have not seen a logo with two K's in it. Have you?

I came up with KK; a backward k and a regular k, K then lower case k and all those ideas I don't like.

Yeah I saw that article before I post but the thing is all those letters are easy to do those effects. None of them have the same letter logo. K K

it seems you're missing the point of a "How To" article.
you're not supposed to find an illustration in there and copy it. read the different methods of joining letters and come up with your own. then read this: http://www.youthedesigner.com/2008/0...ltimate-guide/

how much did you sketch? did you make 10 different proofs? 20? 50? whatever it was, keep going. two letters, the same letter... can't be too hard.

Designing a logo is defintely not finding another logo and making something similiar. If you are to similiar you will be on the border of copyright infringement, and using somebody elses logo is just wrong.

Check out www.logoblog.org they have some decent articles on what logos in specific fields tend to look like characteristics and what their general meanings are.

Your logo should be true to your company. It should explain what you do, what your the tone of your company is (fun, serious) and many other things. A logo is very important to who you are and should explain who you are. You are not going to find the appropriate logo for your company by looking at somebody else's.

I suggest keep reading and sketching until it strikes you. Don't give up or lose hope your logo is your identity and deserves the time you put in to it.

There are many design possibilities using mirrored capital K's -both with their backs together or their fronts together (forming a diamond inbetween). The bottom of the K's "feet" can interact or intertwine... the possibilities are infinite.

Just sketch what comes to mind no matter how bad it looks. Also consider alternatives to K K. Why not 2K? Or just a K?

Other logos should be used more as inspiration so maybe a logo might inspire you to try and experiment with a variety of font weights or something.

I'd read 2k as 2000. how about Kx2?
(note: make shure not to use any 'american' elements, or you'll KK logo will read as KKK )

Find a K you like, print it, cut it out (hell, cut it up if you feel like it) and the pieces you are left with are your puzzle. try to arrange them so that they fit. When you are saticfied glue them to a piece of paper and hang it on the wall, go a week, if you don't want to change it then make it digitally. If you see something you can fix then fix it and repeat. A logo for yourself shouldn't be rushed, it will (hopefully) follow you for a long time.

My $0.02 at least. And one way of doing it. Not saying it's the right one, just another one, try everything and see if it works for you
