I've used a PC all my life but around 6 months ago I got a MacBook and it's been great so far. But I honestly don't think it's powerful enough, at least for me. I still love it and it's 100x better than my PC.

I'd recommend the MacBook Pro or an iMac for people who like the power.

The only real problem with compability is some fonts, but as trueType is gaining grounds I don't even think that is a major problem. Which compabilityproblems has you encountered?

Yeah a lot of people think there are a ton of compatibility issues between PCs and Macs but I haven't really encountered any.

Yeah I have had ZERO problems with compatibility. Anything for that matter. I really hate to play off their marketing but, it really does just work. No crashes, nothing.

I love macs for graphics, but PCs are needed for other stuff.

This debate is futile to begin since it gets heated quickly. Also, you then need to distinguish between linux and windows PCs, and perhaps even versions therein. And OSX is great while OS9 has serious issues (though still superior in some ways to windows).

In short, and this is final and pretty much undisputed:

Each is best at:

PCs*:
The internet (compatiblity and such).
Programming (never even seen anything to program with on a mac, and they don't read .exe's)
Gaming (few games for macs, though they're just fine if they do make them)

MACs:
Graphics (generally, PC's aren't horrible either, but macs are usually smoother)
Video (same as above, basically)
(oh, and they're pretty lol)

While this may have been an issue for some years back, I think the rise of independant browsers have erased that point, and is currently erasing it even further. There is one or two sites that will not work in anything but Internet Explorer, but I would call that the web-designers fault and loss, not credit it to the greatness of windows

But yeah, if you run games or 3d graphics then a mac is probably not your thing.

Well I love my Mac and all but as I said, the MacBook just isn't powerful enough. If you're into serious designing and multi-tasking, a MacBook just won't cut it. I'd say, it's fine for regular internet surfing and a little bit of Photoshop here and there.

And I'm not going to lie, my MacBook has crashed a few times. Everything will just freeze up and I'll have to manually shut it down. And Safari crashes a lot. I have to Force Quit it at least 5 times throughout the day.

Maybe I should look into getting 2GB of RAM?

I got a white MacBook with 2GHz Core 2 Duo and 2 GB memory and it works wonders. It's only weakness is some lagging when multitasking several CS3-progs (illy, ps and inDesign for example) and when doing medium/heavy music editing/recording. My mac crashes about once or twice a month, and after restarting it's all purdy. The only problem with my MacBook is that in Opera when running flash-heavy sites the fan goes up to 6-7000 rpm and sounds like a plane taking off :P
