Help on how to create this graphic please

I would guess pentool in either photoshop or illustrator, and a clever use of gradients. Nothing more snazzy about it than that.

Right you are - I sort of replicated it doing just that. Although I hate the pen tool!

You should fire up illustrator and play around with it, make it your friend, it'll be a great relationship ^_^
