Fonts for Magazine

I am starting a new magazine and had questions about Fonts. I chose to use the Myriad family for titles, sidebars, callouts, etc. and Garamond for body copy. Should I just stick with these two (a san-serif and serif) or is that going to limit me? I was thinking of adding another font (maybe Impact) to give a little pop here and there. Actually I am using one more font as well but it is a decorative, script font (Stanford Script) used in the logo for my company that is producing the magazine. I just thought I would use it sparingly in various titles/subheads throughout as well.

Anyone have thoughts on this or struggle with a similar scenario? What font combinations have you used in the past?

My best suggestion would be be to buy a copy of every magazine related to yours that you can and study them to see what you like and don't like about them.

Speaking of which I need to subscribe to a few design magazines!

Like Gino said, it is good to look at other work to find out what you like and implement that into your work.

Use fonts that complement the subjects.

It's impossible for us to say "this looks good in a magazine" - Garamond looks good in a magazine, but so does Univers. But they don't both fit for the same magazine. Avant Garde looks amazing in Grafik, but put it in Sports Illustrated or "Housewifes knit and sewing" it would, well, be less than perfect :P

So, what kind of magazine is this?

I have looked at a number of other magazines, some directly related. But my question isn't what fonts look good, that's too general. My question is quantity. I know you want some consistency, but is just one serif and one sans-serif limiting me. Oh, to answer alyCe's question, it is a magazine for a timeshare resort that will be mailed out to all the owners. So it should be fun and very visual, but still not too artsy or cutting edge since it will be hitting a wide range of demographics.
