Default Photoshop vs. Paint Shop Pro

Which do you prefer and why? Personally I prefer photoshop because of the extensive features, options, and effects.

Photoshop.
I got CS3 about a month ago and it is absolutely amazing. I wouldn't trade it for any other program.

Yeah definitely Photoshop. Especially CS3. With the new toolbox, sidebars, etc. it's amazing.

I think this is a pretty easy question ;D
There are alot of decent free programs, there are a lot of half-professional programs, but if you want it all then you can't get around photoshop. The only area that Adobe still does not control 100% is layout, where Quark is still a major player. But as more and more of us gets the CS-packages, I think inDesign will probably win too :P

Adobe Photoshop is more powerful, but Jasc's Paint Shop Pro is easier. I used to use PSP long ago, but I didn't turn back once I played with Photoshop.

I think Photoshop is the best, number 1, the greatest... I guess that the guys that work under the hood of Paint Shop Pro need to work harder to be able to compete with Photoshop CS3 Extended Edition .

I don't really like the fact the photoshop doesn't have a true rival, I mean, look at the coding side of web design, there you have plenty of alternatives XSL and XML,XHTMl and CSS, Actionscript or Javascript, but on the pixel based design area, only Photoshop stands...

Default It depends

I have no problem with Graphic Designers who use Paint Shop Pro, but I do encourage them to move to Photoshop. The reason for this is the limited use in the long run with Paint Shop Pro, Photo Impact and others. I liken these programs to Fireworks more than Photoshop. Photoshop is endless in my opinion and no designer from Burt Monroy to others can make the claim with confidence, that they know everything about that piece of software it's so powerful. The one click options in low end software brings you low end results, and will never separate you from the pack of an already flooded market of designers. The only limit to photoshop is the limit of the users imagination and no other software can make that claim.
