Help!

I work with an old logo type, this is part of the brand - Any ideas how i could place the logo so it does not look out of place within a modern design/layout? Any ideas will greatly appreciated! See here for the logo's www.regents.ac.uk

What kind of design is it you are working on? Is it a website or a billboard-ad?
And I don't think the problem will be that huge, that logo is classic and timeless and shouldn't look dated in a clean layout (imo their recent website is quite modern, and that works pretty good so)

I was looking at any media format really; It just seems awkward when I place amongst contemporary layouts, designs. But thanks for the input.

I think as long as you maintain a tone of formality and don't immediately connect modern with flashy, you'll be alright. That logo is, as stated above, quite timeless, so it shouldn't be hard.

Just as an example:

The Hartford Courant is one of the oldest newspapers in the country, so they know that they have a history they can't ignore. However, they are also one of the most modernly designed newspapers in the country. Look at that whitespace, use of alignment, chunking, and charticleization (totally made up a new word).

My point is, it is entirely possible to be extremely modern and still remain classic. Don't shoehorn a look that you think is cool if it doesn't suit the subject.
