Posting Rewards System

I'm also thinking about introducing a posting rewards system like, when you reach 1k posts you get $5 via paypal, when you reach 2.5k posts you get a free t-shirt from threadless.com worth $15.

I think this is a nice way to reward members who make quality posts and really contribute to the forums and it should also help keep members active.

Does this sound good to you guys?

Sounds genius! Now you've gotta watch our for spammers who make silly posts to build up their count.

Oh and what about a Member Of The Month or something?

Yeah well I'm gonna have a disclaimer on it that will give me final judgment whether you deserver the reward or not; plus I can view all posts by anyone to see if they are spam or legit posts.

I'm def not out to rip anyone off, but im not gonna let spammers think they can get the rewards by making a bunch of 3 word posts in the wrong threads.

Sounds good Gino. I think that member of the month would be good and maybe as a reward have their banner in the "forum sponsors" for a week or a day or somethin...who knows. But your ideas are good, definately a motivation. However $5 for 1k posts isn't a lot. But it shouldn't be hard to reach as long as the forum is active and some good discussions are going.

As long as there is a quality check to it then it's a brilliant idea! Only problem with a system like that (especially if it's automatic) is that lots of people will write much more than they have to say. So to boost their postcount they will just check in on all the feedback- and portfolio-threads and write "nice!". Instant postcount-boost and ooh, free cash ;D

But yeah, it's always nice to reward people who contribute to a community! =)
