Graphic Design Final Project

Hi,

I am currently trying to decide on a final project to do in Uni...I am pretty confused and need some guidance...I've been thinking about doing all the design and branding for an event or social campaign, game or movie launch collateral, something along those lines...I need some advice on what I could do so that it would stand out as a credible project in my Portfolio, one that shows real world practical work. Please advise,

I started a graphic design blog fr my senior project, was pretty fun and then it really took off.

I think its kind of better to go with a topic your interested in or feel strongly about. Maybe something in the recent news.
