Default Can I make a living working as a freelance Web Developer?

I am 55 and I am currently learning html/css/javascript/php/asp.net. I want to become a freelancer web developer/Designer. Is it possible to make a living doing that home? If yes how do you market yourself? Local newspaper??

You can easily make a living out of it. But your quality of work needs to compliment the price you ask. There is enough freelance talent available out there so competition is tough.freelance work from home,
There are many online websites which bring together freelance web developers and source code buyers.

Yes its very possible many people do it. I wrote two articles on promoting your website.

The best possible way to promote your site will be to have a great portfolio along with using stumbleupon.com and sites like craiglist to find gigs

Yes. It is definitely a possibility. I am only 15 years old and the doors are already open. (Well maybe a crack ) And look at that. Gino posts on promoting your website by promoting his website! Haha.

On a more serious note, social networking is a great way to get traffic and business. Maybe get a blog. If you do, make sure you stay current. Even though you are living at home, the work is still tough.

Good luck on achieving your goal.
