Critique my design please

This is a poster that I design when I was thinking in the decorative beautiful tropical places.

Tropical Colors. Colors of Nature or Cultures in the tropical areas.

Critiques please

What Design? i see a stained glass window with a gritty filter, bad type with even worse colors and a huge arrogant label dying for people to give them business. im not nice, graphic design is my job. i hope you understand, because if you get a job over me, im gonna be pissed. go read some tutorials and look at what you do

The layout is bad. The texture, colors, shapes and typefaces aren't "tropical" and I don't even understand what this is. You say it's a poster... but it doesn't communicate any information.

Perhaps you could try to be a bit more constructive? Since this is posted in 'Graphic Design Critiques' and his thread title is 'Critique my design please' he's probably looking for some suggestions to how his design can be improved don't you think?

You say that you did this while thinking of tropical places. Personally I don't get much of a tropical vibe from this. And I wouldn't know what it was if I hadn't read your explanation. Dirty glass and coloured grainy rectangles don't speak an abundance in the way of tropical color. What about palm trees, blue water, green, plants, animals, beaches, etc etc.? There are a lot of things you could incorporate to give it more of a tropical feel. There's no real composition to it either. Try to create some depth and an interesting focal point.

The typography needs a lot of work. The color doesn't work and the font is really bad and cheap looking. The text is the focal point of your piece right now, so it needs to stand out a lot more and enhance the piece. As it is now, your piece would actually be better off with no text on it. It looks like you just threw it in with no thought to whether it would enhance the actual design or why you have chosen the color, font and placement that you have.

Also I'd remove the 'designed by' text in the bottom right hand corner. It serves no purpose and adds nothing to the design.

Sorry if this sounds a bit harsh. But I'm just trying to give you my honest opinion in the hope that it can be constructive for you.

thanks for your critiques, that help me to fix error and made better graphic, i call this tropical color only for one reason, when you go to a island they have in the tourist area in every store flags, souvenirs, teddy bears, plates, and much more items painted and designed whith these colors, I'm from Puerto Rico. Also my plan was upload de design whith no text just plain, thanks very much i will do it better
