I just finished this mock up. Any comments or critiques would be appreciated.

Wow, impressive reflection you've done on the logo, really stands out.

I think the background and content are are to similar in color. I think there needs to be some more contrast.
Also if this sites purpose is to get some one to sign up you might want to relocate that sign up box in the top right to a more prominent location. |

I think it looks a bit confusing and kinda like you just had to throw as many effects on as possible. Too many different styles. I'd either go for the web 2.0ish glossy style or some grunge/old style with different things stuck on like you did with the clip and paper, just to keep it more consistent. Also the color scheme really doesn't appeal to me, especially the yellow in the content area , but that's a personal preference I guess.
The reflection on the logo is very over the top in my opinion. It would be nicer if you made the effect more subtle I think. Furthermore the text on the box doesn't look like it's on the box, I'd work more on that. I'd go for a more simple font in the logo as well and put the box to the left of the text maybe? There are some good ideas in there and the site definitely has potential. I just think you should refine it more and give more attention to detail, go for one style and do that style well. Sorry for the novel ![]()

clichés can be good or bad, for them to be good takes tremendous work, or a great deal of luck. It's important when working with webdesign to be aware of current trends, what is overused and what is new. The web 2.0-look (and especially the iTunes-reflection) has sadly been beaten to death and kicked several million times now, which is very important to be aware of. It meens that working with too many gradients, orbs, dropshadows and the before-mentioned reflection-look has the potential to drop your page from good to average. And on the internet, bad is better than average! My suggestion is to think Strip, not Clothe. Think about your effects, what to they do? Do the dropshadow add to the feeling, or distract. It's not always a good idea to make everything float around. Sometimes it is, sometimes not, judge for yourself ![]()

Remember when creating reflections on objects with perspective such as the little box in your logo the reflected image needs manipulating to allow for it to extend from each side
