With me its always the drop shadows haha; I'm so anti drop shadow
![]() I would use a darker background color so you don't need the drop shadow around the outside of the layout. Let the contrast of colors define the edge for you. |

I like it, nothing bad to say.
And I think the drop-shadow works good with this layout, no need to change that imo. Great work ![]() |

And unto them, He sayeth:
Thou shalt not escapeth from the drop shadows, reflections, gradients, for They areth the gateway to thy eternal kingdom of gloss. It's in the bible ![]() But in this case, I'd say the drop shadow/outer glow (both?) isn't all that bad, although I prefer if a lightsource is from top to bottom (most preferably from left to right, so it follows the eye). Only thing I'd like to comment about is the background, I think it would look good (maybe?) in a solid grey color the same hue that is on the top of the gradient. Did you design the color-scheme and logo too by the way?

No, the client provided the logo so I just based the color scheme around that.
Cheers for the comments guys! I tried with no drop shadow and plain Grey background as well (which looked better IMO as well) but the client found it too dark and preferred this design.

I get really impressed. The layout works, the entire color scheme works. The only thing that I would change it it's the button of "Select and vote now", you can use CSS to style-ized a little bit, but, that's 'cause I'm sort of fan of putting css to everything :P
Good Work, I give you 10 points for it ![]() |

I think its a solid design. Good job.
If the budget afforded for more design work I would try out some of the suggestions above in regards to the container as a rounded rectangle with drop shadow. It doesn't look bad, but it stands out so much. It could integrate into the rest of the design better. I'm not against drop shadows, but I think they should be used subtly. If the budget affords more exloration I would focus on this area of the design.
