Hi,
I am having a small problem with my payoff. My logo is Hollowhead and i have a payoff of graphics but i think that the payoff text is taking too much attention. Should i dump the payoff totaly? just go with Hollowhead or should i get a new payoff? Since i dont only do graphics the current payoff narrows my customers down and i don't want that. The things i do is: photo/print/web The main thing is to change so that Hollowhead is the thing that "hits" you first... Thanks in advance. |

Payoff= the substring that can be a slogan, description...
ex. mcdonalds has: im loving it burger king: have it your way in my case: graphics sorry for the confusion and i agree i used the word payoff too much. Last edited by Hollowell : 04-15-2008 at 02:58 AM. |

I guess you could reduce the size of "Graphics" and increase + bold "Hollowhead".

Well, firstofall, neither McDonals or Burgerking has their... payoff larger than their logo.
also, the burgerthings you mentioned are more like slogans, so the way I see it is, there are these two billboard-ads: McDONALS! I'm lovin' it Response - "heey dude, wanna grab a salad at McDonals?" (and now, your sign) HOLLOWHEAD GRAPHICS Response - "hey dude, wanna get a new logo from hollowhead graphics?" (and yes, I know this whole point could have been said much easier, like this) - it seems like the name is supposed to be "hollowhead graphics". If you want to use that as a commercial name then fine, no worries about that. However, if you want Hollowhead to be named just Hollowhead then you need something more (and smaller) than graphics. Like HOLLOWHEAD - graphics, design and new media. More of a slogan/payoff than just a title. My 0,02$ ![]() |

![]() The first part is totally correct. And Graphics was a part of the name when i designed the logo but i decided that it was not what i wanted. Since what i do is more then "graphics" in my definition. So now to make the some more clear questions Does "Hollowhead" sound good alone? Ideas for a payoff/slogan if i should have one that covers a wider ground? All of your posts are appreciated! big or small... ![]() |

I'd say both yes and no. It's original, ironic and a bit sassy (in a good way), but I'm afraid not everyone is going to see that and just think "erm, hollowhead? I'd rather hire someone who hasn't a hollow head, but a brain" (or, something along those lines). I don't think I (or anyone) can actually say yes or no. For me I'd say go, but I'd put A LOT of work into a logo and stationary. As long as you are aware of the risk of putting yourself out there as a hollowhead :P
