Default My blog

Didn't find a place elsewhere to put this, I'm not putting it up for design critique or such, and I don't want to spam just to share. I've started a little blog myself at http://boomstein.teijssen.be where I will be posting lots of stuff, including design related material and such. Does anyone have good hints on writing photoshop or illustrator tutorials?

I know you don't want design critique but I really like the design..sorry

I just did a tutorial on CSS for some of my colleagues and they didn't have clue what I was talking about I think maybe simplify things more even though they make perfect sense to you. Lots of screenshots. Take it step by step (unless you're doing tutorials for intermediates or experts?).

I have found that when writing tutorials you really have to dummy proof them. You don't want to treat your readers as if they are children, but when it comes to writing instructions you don't want your reader to have to guess at anything. Everything should be laid out so that what they are doing is plain and simple.

Hi guys! Thanks for the response. I've completed my first tut, about how to "cut out" a piece of jewellery from a picture so you can use it ina other compositions.

Just read your first tutorial, and I've got another pseudo critique: The writing is great! It flowed well, spoke clearly and it had a sense of humor about itself (you don't usually find personality in these things). Great job.

I can't speak from a SEO standpoint, but I know if I came across this by chance, it'd find its way into my bookmarks or RSS feed. Looking forward to reading more!

Those are very kind and flattering words, Distill, thank you! You encourage me to continue what I'm doing. Wish I had more time to write stuff and shoot pictures, and draw stuff
