Default portfolio cases

I've checked the forums and haven't come across anyone with this same question, so if there is already a thread on this topic maybe someone could direct me...

I'm having trouble finding sites with good quality portfolios, perhaps some of you have some resources you can share with me. I want a binder style (book portfolio) but am not positive what features I should be looking for. I know there are tons of options and finishes within that style of case (leather, plastic, wood, aluminum.) I'm considering buying an aluminum 11x14 or 11x17 with post extenders. Is aluminum still desirable or has it been done to death; dated?

I'm clueless as to what employers prefer. Personally, I want something modern and professional. Any thoughts or resources would be greatly appreciated!

I think aluminum graphic design portfolios are still nice. Black plastic cases are boring, but still good as a disposable portfolios you can leave behind.

Currently I have a nice woodgrain portfolio from Veer which was a gift from a client, but i def would not want to leave this behind at some studio:

I was actually looking at that one but I'm making an additional logo book and couldn't find any smaller formats (4x6) in woodgrain that matched. Plus I think I may need something around 11x17'. The woodgrain is so nice though.
