Default Business Card

Hello everyone,

Well since I got such a warm welcome with my portfolio design, I thought I might share something.
This is a Business card I made for my best friend ...

What do you think?

Two things I notice would be that the radial gradient seems to end rather abruptly. I think it should fade out smooth so you may want to play with that a bit.

Also the contact info on the bottom is a little close to the edgfe. Its not really in the safety area and I'm afraid it might get clipped or come really close to being clipped when the cards get trimmed by the printer.

You could prob reduce that font size like 2 pts to fix that issue or move it up a bit.

Oh thanks Gino ...

Well I absolutely agree with you ... but this sample is a trimmed version and about the radial I thought exactly the same. But when I printed a sample we could barely see the effect so the client ask to change it. Of course on screen it looks a bit odd but the print was amazing! Go figure ...

Maybe I should have uploaded the screen version

I think the logo is a little too big maybe. You may want to consider adding more info to make it more informative. Also price is another factor. A full color/double side business card is going to be pretty expensive.

This might just be me...but I think the DJ character trumps the logo...not sure if that's a good thing. I would much rather look at the character because the logo kind of comes off as a little outdated, where the character looks cool, clean and fresh...Freky...Freky...Fresh....

Swooshes were a HUGE trend in logos about 4 or 5 years ago that really got out done. If I can find the article I read or some examples I'll post it.

I have update the pictures ....

Thanks meeko ... well I don't believe I can list prices here but in Israel printing is very cheap comparing other countries I have visited. Besides, the only one that should be happy at the end is the customer. Although I had the same ideas as you, that's the way he wanted it ... that's the way he got it. right?

Yep...it's the clients world...we just live in it. Hell...I'll draw a stick figure on a piece of paper and slap it on a business card if they want me too. As long as I get paid in the end and the cleint is happy, I guess that's all that matters.

I'm glad we agree on that ... I have found myself designing few really ugly things just to satisfy my client. Comes with the territory.

but its so nice when someone is willing to try something new or go out on a limb and give you full creative control over a project. in my experience that is a rare situation.
