it doesn't pop, but it's okay for a quickie.
it also doesn't tell me anything about the event. is CCQB a band? what sort?

i'm not sure what information it is lacking. it has the time, date, venue, and bands that are playing. anyone who would receive this is very familiar with the venue and the bands. i guess i could use some clarification. thanks for the comments

I'll say the opposite If you made a poster that "pops" it's a good chance it would disappear in the myriad of flyers and posters, this would stand out because of it's simplicity. The line through the text ruins the readability though, and already vertical it makes it very difficult to read. Else than that I like it. Simple, clean typographic flyers are a rarety

Note: My screen is a little bit too bright so I didn't see the grey box at once. What does it do? For me it doesn't do anything but tip the weight from balanced to a bit heavy on the right. You could try balance it out with some grey lines on the left side perhaps, or drop it all together.

Also, I agree and disagree with the 'not enough info'. There are some details missing such as CC, age limit etc. This could be left out if you supplied a link to a website for CCQB, but you should supply at least one of them. But then again I suspect you got a copy from the client so I guess that's not your fault? :P

I love the simple style, though i don't like the fact, that you have to turn your head to read the details.
