I'm trying to add some "pizazz" to my vectors and I need help. Which is better:
with text and sunburst:http://img256.imageshack.us/img256/8210/cpcrj1.jpg with text without sunburst:http://img175.imageshack.us/img175/6720/cpc2ou2.jpg no text no sunburst:http://img206.imageshack.us/img206/9283/cpc3qf9.jpg Any suggestions on text, colors, layout, vector quality, or anything are greatly appreciated. |

Based purely on aesthetics, I like the one with text & sunburst best . . . otherwise the background seems too empty (compared to the detailed foreground).
I don't know what the sunburst would mean, though, in that context. If you could throw something else back there; something that belongs (outline of team logo, eg.) it would make more sense and look good. Your vector subjects look great! Do you draw these free hand? Tracing image? |

I tried a v4 with this logo:
http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i2...SCtrojlogo.jpg It didn't flow well and there was 't much space for it to be seen clearly. Anyone else got any comments/critique ? |

I vote with text and starburst, I think it brings a whole new dimension to the design. Looks kind of empty without it!

I think the logo looks nice, it plays with the negative space correctly (its called GESTALT).
The jagged edges could be smoothened out like these - http://www.sportslogos.net/logo.php?id=951 http://www.sportslogos.net/logo.php?id=1046 http://www.sportslogos.net/logo.php?id=885 |

georigin, I don't think he wanted feedback on the logo
![]() I think it's hard to choose, because I'd say none. The wallpaper with the frame, what does it say? Because to me that texture says victorian, abit vampy, dark, decadent... it does NOT say american football whatsoever. I suspect this is like discovering how cool helvetica is, and since you just discovered this, you just haaave to use it on your next project (which just happened to be a wedding-invitation).

I think it depends on the mood you want to create. The dark one without anything on the background makes him look older, which excentuates the age lines he has on his face.

Adding to Sean's comment, I seriously think the background takes away from the whole vector effect, because (and this is just me) I find the vector effect, more of a bright technique.
The mood is important. |
