I want to know how long it takes someone to go from making dirty animated gif's (this is where I'm at) to doing these kind of graphics ? I am starting to feel retarded. Tell me You have lots of college and have been at it for years.

You don't need lots of college, you can learn the programs by trial-and-error, or buy books that tell you all about them. And then you just need to design, design, design. It takes years, yes, but you don't need official schooling.
