Below are seven examples of successful website designs. The best way to become a better designer is to look at as much successful work as possible. Not only do you need to look at a lot of different designs, you need to understand why they work. Take a look at all these designs and figure out for yourself what they are successful website designs.

Examine all the different elements, the colors, how text is arranged and how the website becomes the perfect carrier and conveyor of the clients message or product.

Apple rules on design, we already knew that ;P

Not sure on the ellislab one... The colors are awful, looks like those who made it has no knowledge of colortheory.

Yes its hard to find a design better then apples site in terms of a store website. I kinda like the ellislab one haha.

edit: 31three was AAAMAZIIIING!!!! One of the best "professional" websites I've seen. THIS is the upside of web 2.0

I have a bone to pick with the Apple website: it's too wide. Do they want us mac users to stretch our windows all the way across the screen? You'd expect them to pick up on such an oversight, being the computers' manufacturers.
