Another newbie here

Hey! I just joined so I thought I would say hello and introduce myself a bit before I start posting. I am a senior in college who has just changed majors to graphic design. I started in art then switched to psychology, then realized how much I miss studio classes and being creative. I have been teaching myself Photoshop since 2005 and still have a lot to learn about graphic design. I am unfamiliar with other graphic design programs but recently got the Adobe Creative Suite CS3 package. I am glad to be a part of this forum and hope to learn some new techniques and get some honest opinions about my work.

Welcome to the forums! I hope you enjoy it here, and I'm glad to hear that you stuck with your passion! I almost did psych too, but switched to design. I look forward to seeing your work.

Thanks for the welcome! I will start sharing my work once I decide what I want to post.

To leftover_color: That's cool. Psychology is a very interesting subject but definitely is not what I want to be doing for the rest of my life. Also, all of the paper writing that is required made me enjoy it less. I think I made the right decision and I feel like I will really enjoy my graphics courses. I look forward to getting some feedback on my work from everyone here.

Welcome, good thing you got the adobe programs they are essential, be sure to master them and practice off even doing designs for fun.

Thanks Gino! I definitely will do that. I love working on designs just for fun, it has been my hobby for the past several years. Once I figure out how to use the other programs, I will begin using those for my creations as well. Right now everything I make is done in Photoshop.
