Default Hello!

Helllo everybody!

I'm originally from Denmark but I live and work as a Web Designer for a small agency in London. When I'm not designing I like to travel, watch British comedy and read books . I hope I can contribute to the forum and learn from all the talented people here.

Thanks!

Welcome we are glad to have you here! My friend recently came back from London and said he loved it there, how do you like it?

Actually I hated it for the first couple of months I found it very unfriendly, busy and fast paced. Probably also because I didn't have a proper job in the beginning and I arrived here last November so it was quite miserable. It has grown on me though and I like it a lot now. It's very diverse and it's almost like a 100 small cities within the city with each their own charm and unique atmosphere. Damn expensive though

Yeah my friend has a friend who has a very expensive apartment in the heart ofLondon and she pays the equivalent of 4k USD a WEEK. Seems like a waste of money to me, but to each his own =). I guess there are some apartments like that in NYC too.

One thing I found unbelievable was the number of taxi's when I visited London for the Digital Print show last year! Every other car was a black cab scooting around the city!

I'm off down in February to take the missus to the theatre, we'll have to make some time to see the sights this time

One thing we aspire to is to one day vist NYC

Yeah Central London is very expensive (your friend must be loaded, does she need any new friends ). London is divided into zones and it gets a lot cheaper when you get out to Zone 2, 3 and so on. I live in Zone 2 and it's not too bad. I share a 1 bedroom flat with my girlfriend and we're paying around £400 a month each. It's quite big and we have a garden so I'm happy with it. The wages here generally equals the prices as well so it's not so bad really. But yeah for an American it would be extremely expensive.

@ spoongraphics: Yeah I always wanted to go to NYC as well. Now would be a good time considering the exchange rate. Almost 2 dollars for a pound. You should definitely go to The Tate Modern in February. Best art gallery I've been to so far. Greenwich Village is also worth a visit, go to the park and up to the top of the hill where the GMT time line is. You have an amazing view of Canary Wharf and the whole of London there.
