I've heard about "CFA" (chat forum addiction)...fortunately, I'm swamped right now and really don't have the time to become addicted. Although, knowing my personality, I'd be on for days at a time and showering would be a thing of the past.
I seem to be having some difficulty navigating the "chat", could you shed some light here??? |

There is no live chat room on the forums unfortunately, all the chatting is done by posting. I don't think many forums have live chat room because it would take away from the posting. Sorry!

OK, I get it. I guess I had the two confused or thought they were one in the same. My mistake. So really, it's a lot more like e-mail? But, it's called posting?

Yes me and you are having a conversation via posting in a "thread". A Thread is essentially a topic some one starts on the forums. For example if you had a question "What is the standard size for a business card?"
You would start a new thread under the appropriate "forum" which would be our forum called "printing and prepress" which is under general graphic design discussion. Then people can respond to your thread to answer your question by posting back to you. Its simply text messaging back and forth in an organized environment. The reason forums are all text based is because search engines respond well to text and it brings traffic to the forums. If we just had a live chat the search engines would not consider us as useful of a website. Hope this helps! |
