Hi Sarah. Allow me to explain some of the unspoken rules:

Comic Sans is ugly and childish, as well as overused.
Clip art rarely blends well and looks amateurish.
Photoshop filters are fine when used in conjunction with other things. But simply filtering an image is not good design, it's lazy.
And Web 2.0-style is a bit overdone now (though I still like it )

The rest are pretty self-explanatory.

Thank you for answering. It's kinda what I assumed , but sometimes my assumptions are way way off . Comic Sans just looks like the font you would use for a baby shower invitation.

I carry a big-ass black red marker with me most of the time, so that I may bring the use of Comic Sans to those unfortunate people who have 'accidentally' employed its use in a poster or similar.* Glossy effects may be a personal preference now it's all the rage, but even if all the cool kids were using Comic Sans, DON'T DO IT! It's funny Comic Sans is a plague to the graphics arts community..who knew?I don't think that it's a mistake I would accidentally make ,but , it's super funny that people have misused a font so much it has become a scourge !

Well I don't know if we really shud be so anti-comic-sans. It depends on the usage. Definitely I would love to use it for chidrens.
