Default Greetings

I am new to the site and I must say I really do love it here! I am what you call: a suppressed artist who has discovered her true calling and is taking every measure to ensure this dream is realized.

If anyone has any helpful tips to share on becoming a self-taught graphic designer, please do share. Thanks so much!

Welcome =D.
My opinion on becoming a self-taught graphic designer would be to read, draw, follow tutorials, remember them for when you want to mix stuff up.

Hope you have a wonderful stay.

Well you already have one advantage, your location . There is so much inspiration where you live (assuming you're not to far from NYC)...

Besides that I'd suggest downloading the trial versions of Adobe products just to open them up and try and experiment/mess around without using to many resources (tutorials / other people). I just feel you grow so much more by doing that rather than having someone spoon feed you along the way.

Eventually those are good learning tools. Unless you have absolutely no idea how to use a program. Like when I first start it was easy to work my way around the apps 'cause I already knew a lot about computers...I took some classes at an art school and there were some people who didn't even know how to open up a new file...etc If you're one of those people, hit the books

Obviously post any questions you may have here, people are generally eager to help. Good luck!

Welcome here! I hope you enjoy it here, and find your calling. Like said above, look at articles, networks, artwork, tutorials, etc. Don't stop!

Hello and Welcome. Being a self taught artist can be really rewarding. I am a self-taught graphic designer as well! Anyway, feel free to ask any questions you might have. I look forward to seeing your work!

PS Could you change your font size. It is a little hard to read xD
