Video Editing. My specialty.
ahhaha Windows Movie maker is the worst video editing software. Do NOT even try it, dont even waste your precious time learning it. I just needed to clear that up. There is no BEST video editing software, because it isn't up to the software to edit, its the editor himself (or herself). When buying software, you just need to know the basics. Know when and how to cut, and you must know about timing. There is, however, top of the line video editing programs that are NEEDED. As Final Cut express and Windows Movie Maker just doesnt seem to cut it. Now dont get me wrong, FC express is better then WMM, its just FCE doesnt have as much options as the real version would. First thing to look at. What operating system do you have? Mac OS - Get Final Cut Pro. (cough up that $1500 if you can, it is so worth it.) Windows - There are a few options for Windows. You could get Adobe Premiere Elements 3 (or 4 i dont know the version they are at as of now), Which is only $100 bucks. It has simple controls, automatic burning to DVD with customizable menus, and so much more. It is fast a reliable, as it is the cheapest Video Editing software out there that is worth getting. The other option is to get Adobe Premiere CS3. Very expensive, and is EQUIVALENT to Final Cut Pro, if not better. All in all, the real editing is done by the editor, so whether you use Final Cut, Premiere, or Windows Movie Maker (cringe x.x), its still up to you to make it perfect. I edit a lot, and i can sit for hours getting it perfect. So goodluck and i hope this helped! ahhaha i actually wrote a lot more then i planned. --------------------------------- Oops. Adobe After Effects isn't good for just plain editing, as the sound is only available in around 10 second audio clips. After Effects requires a HELL of a lot of skill and knowledge. You must learn about key framing, and all that other fun stuff. Basically, you can't just use After Effects. It doesn't cut it. After Effects is perfect for any kind of video effect you need, and you can edit, but you need the whole package.
