Applying for art/design school (help!)
I'm finally gonna graduate from my media school with a diploma and considering applying for the art/design course in a local university.
One of the documents required, besides a portfolio, is... "A 3-minute movie with a personal explanation/performance demonstrating why you should be admitted into the course" Any ideas or suggestions on what I should do? The deadline is less than 1 month from now... :S |

Oh man thats crazy Ive never heard of a school asking for a video before. You could do a dance like something from the movie napoleon dynamite.
 Maybe you can Google this topic and see if you can find any videos people have done like this to get some ideas? |

That sounds like a tough brief. I recently had to create a project based around a journey of discovery of which I did a monopoly board for an art foundation course.
Why not do a video related more about yourself and not why you should be admitted. Afterall, you should be admitted because of who you are and not just because of your skills. Maybe showcase an unusual hobby? Or do something so different to what they expect but in there is a hidden meaning. I think the more unique the idea, the more they will remember who you are and also shows you think outside of the box  |

Try UC San Diego Digital Arts Center They offer 2 programs: Digital Graphics and Web Design or Video, Sound & Motion Graphics Program. Its a one year certificate program that is career focused. They ask for a short essay why you want the program. Good Luck!
