Well, you can get your own custom website built, or use a CMS (content management system) which is what I do. I haven't uploaded half of my work yet, but you can see what I have up of my folio here:

elitebydesign.com/portfolio

That is all hosted on Wordpress - perfect if you want to run a blog too. I have my folio along with my blog and I have found it to be quite helpful.

The trend right now is definitely one page portfolios. Most clients actually prefer that.

I'd suggest coming up with an alias to display your work under (for instance mine is "infektsu" which means "Infects You" - meaning behind that is I hope that my work sticks with people, aka infects them). Register a domain, make a simple yet nice looking single CSS page and throw your work on it with short descriptions.

Actually here are some links that you should find helpful...

One Page Portfolios - Like I said that's the trend right now, and to be honest I love it. Quick and effortless way to check out how skillful a designer really is.

Creating a brand package - Awesome guide for creating your own brand package written by A-Side Studio.

Hope this helps!

Great links infektsu I love them. I actually need to create a second online portfolio for myself in addition to my design business.

My freelance design business focuses on identity design only and has form and stuff on it for clients along with prices and such so I don't think its really good to show potential full time employers. I think I'm gonna do what you mentioned and create a "one page portfolio".

Yeah man that's the way to go. I have been putting that off for years, haha literally. I just never find time to sit down and start making stuff. I could use some of the stuff I already have, but all the work I have done in the past I don't really like and it has been under a creative director so it's not really MY designs if that makes sense.

I think what I'm going to do is start making a few things for fictional companies, well for real ones too, but as if they actually hired me to do a concept...HA. Maybe a site design for a friend or something... In any case I need to start getting busy...

Yeah I'm already working on my new site layout now that I will use for both my portfolio sites and just adjust the two a bit. Like my business site will have prices and such, but my personal portfolio site wont and it will have things like a downloadable version of my resume, etc.
