printing on wood

I'm curious as to what people would recommend for transferring a logo (or potentially other designs) onto some handmade skateboards that I'm producing...

make sure your would is treated so it doesn't suck the ink away.. try screen printing, or find a signwriter and have your logo printed onto vinyl and stuck on the board, or hand paint/spray it on if your good at freestyle. you can experiment with vectors and grunge up some imagery too.. you've given me an idea actually. i had some artwork commissioned by eBoy, i might add that to a skate board as a give-away at the next student competition.. thanks

hmm, thanks for the ideas and suggestions.

we've looked into getting an iron brand made, so that we can actually burn the logo into the wood... what do you think?

i think that would be awesome looking, plus the fact that the brand will last forever!

i have seen the effect used on softwood business cards, just be sure to practice on something other than your skateboard first! i think it would look cool if you did the whole iron branding thing and then varnished over it or sprayed around it into some artwork.. OR what about creating a logo stencil out of iron and blow torching over it, it will give you a more predictable and controllable result if you wanted to reproduce it. it would work well if you intend to make that mark your 'Business Brand' so u could do other peoples boards too. you could probably get something reasonably intricate cut from sheet metal by a engineering firm, tell them your a student and its part of your end of year project and i'm sure you will get a freebie or discount, works for me everytime... hehehehehe
