I am a new graphic designer and I've been given a job to design a 35mx6metre vinyl banner which is a bit daunting since its the first time I've been asked to design something on such a big scale.
I would just like to know are there any guidelines to follow when designing such a big project as Illustrator only allows me to make an artboard up to 5 somewhat metres wide.
What do I need to keep in mind when using raster images with regard to size and resolution ?
Do I just design it at a fraction of the size being 1/8th of the original and ask the printers to increase the artwork size by 800% for the final output ?
Your help will be greatly appreciated.
