Default What program for creating promo videos?

Hi,

I'm hoping for some advice on what kind of software programs can create this kind of promotional clip... http://www.fileden.com/files/2008/1/...tribution1.wmv

More specifically, are there programs available that use relatively simple pre-set templates and effects that are are more appropriate for the basic user, rather than having to be a wiz with the likes of After Effects?

Thanks for any help you can offer

I'm not shure, but you got some options in Windows Movie Maker or... damn, the mac movieeditingsoftware (name lost for me right now). Think that would be your best shot if you don't want to get advanced with After Effects or Premiere

imovie you mean?

They got some neat templates but they may be overused. Its such a simple program to use if you never done anything. Theres also a way more expensive version if you have some money to invest. Its on the mac store forgot the name. Final cut pro?

thanks for replies but i think iMovie is way too basic for what i need. did you watch the clip? I'm hoping there's something in-between the likes of iMovie and After Effects.... I think Adobe Premiere is actually the one and not After Effects, but both look complicated! I'll take a look at Final Cut Pro

Basically I need to be able to produce something as close to the clip as possible.

I've used a program called 3D Pack Shot which can do the spinning box you see at the beginning, although it doesn't animate the box opening with the DVD flying out. Maybe there's a similar but more advanced piece of software that automates that for you rather than having to create it...

A frame then flies from the DVD box and into full screen which is pretty cool.....and does the same thing in reverse at the end. Any ideas?

If I can figure that out, I imagine the main footage is just sequencing of selected clips using a basic editor with some text laid over the top....

Any tips gratefully received. Would sort out a big problem that's for sure.

Cheers
