Default Wacom Graphire tablet

I'm seriously thinking on bidding on this tablet on ebay. Would you guys recommend it? Or are there better alternatives at such low price?

Its hard for me to make out which version that one is and the price, but I would prefer to buy a new one from Wacom if you can save up for it.

I would go for an Intuos3. That's just because I have one. It all depends on what you're wanting to do with it though.

I was thinking to use it to make small sketches directly to my PC or use it to work on my pictures and stuff... I'd like to get a brand new tablet from Wacom but they're just so expensive...

I agree--that's what I've got and I love it. They're not cheap, but if you're going to be doing a lot of actual drawing (as opposed to clicking and dragging) you really need to have a pad of some sort. If nothing else, think of it as a productivity booster (assuming you're doing this professionally).

It looks like to me that the Wacom tablet on eBay is a very old version. I have not seen that product. I also have been researching Wacom tablets myself. It obviously depends on your need & budget. If you don't need much active surface area go for the Wacom Bamboo $99 or the small Bamboo Fun (about 6 in x 4 in active surface area. But if you want/need more like me you could go with the Wacom Bamboo Fun - Medium (about 8.5 in x 5.5 in active area) for about $199.

The Intuos line is very nice and they have some awesome large active area models, but they are very expensive which is a draw back if you are not a professional designer and would only use it for personal use. The Intuos line also has about twice the presure sensitivity capability than the Bamboo & Bamboo Fun models. Bamboo 512/ Intuos 1024...something like that.

Bottom line...you're gonna get what you pay for.
