Default Text Fonts

What do you guys recommend as really good text fonts for small text such as on a resume.

Also what point size do you think is is the perfect size for readability. I Know a lot of designers like using small type and I love small type, but I'm afraid of making it too small on a resume. Ive been testing out different size by printing it, but I wanted to see what you guys have used before.

I actually prefer gill sans for print, you could of course go for a classic serif-font, but especially if you're applying for design-job you don't want it to be in Times (and I'm still not conviced of the beauty of Garamond, and anyway that's not for a resume

And I agree that small type is beautiful, but you don't want them to sit squinting to read your 7pt helvetica with 30% opacity and loads of whitespace Even through it would look pretty.

although i just read that 7-9 is optimal for print. 12 or higher looks 'juvenile' and unprofessional. so just disregard my last comment.

Yeah I think your right about the 7-9, I think I have read that a few places as well as being an optimal text font size, especially for resumes where you don't want to be stressing the eyes of your potential employer.
