Default New to typografi. What should I learn?

Hello, I'm all new to typografi, and at this forum as a matter of fact. I've just discovered the power of typografi, and I really want to learn something because I think it'll be helpfull for my design.

I'm not totally new to typografi thought. I've learned, or at least tread to learn, something about the following:

- Line height
- Fonts and typefaces (Serif, Sans-Serif, readability and such)
- Sizes, margins, paddings, bold and italic text.
- Colours

I wouldn't say I know everything about the subjects above, but I would say I've learned the basics.

My question to you is really; what should I focus on? Could you please tell me about some techniques i might find usefull?

And sorry about my english.

I think you are on the right track, my best advice would be to keep reading book son typography. Go to amazon.com and such and look for some books you find interesting. I would first study traditional typefaces and then learn which type faces are good for web, print, books, large sizes. Start learning which fonts should be used when and learn the meanings behind different fonts.

Many fonts have a historical context and that historical context can be used to enhance your designs.

Just keep reading and see what other designers do with type and you will do great!

Well, to study typography, you should:
buy some books (in this area more than any it's important to know history)
be more concious about type around you
make ilovetypography.com and typophile.com your new homepages

i agree with what others have said. typography can be a very subtle art and often difficult to execute well. keep practicing, studying, practicing, studying etc etc. unfortunately there is no easy road to mastery in this skill (or any for that matter).
