I'm gonna be unoriginal and say helvetica neue and avant garde, although gill sans and verdana are also quite nice!

I love Helvetica also the others I enjoy are the Franklin, “gothic book” mostly from that family. Also Eras, “Light ITC” it has a techie feel to it and is rather clean and straight forward. I also find Century quite useful on occasion. You know I find that I am not too comfortable with every font within a family; it varies from project to project. My professor use to say that fonts are living and breathing things and like our own families, they sometimes don’t get along with one another.

After trying out every other font I always go back to the standard good old Arial, it's a univesral font who gets along with everyone.I also dig space-y fonts like Tahoma and Verdana. Kabel is an old flame of mine, and lately I've been using Teen light in my emails.

I think it has to be Helvetica Neue. Most commonly used font for designers, but oh well.

Can I change mine to Comic Sans? ^^
nah... Century Gothic is also very sexy, along with Bauhaus STD. Futura is also good at headlines and bigger font sizes. Walkway semibold is also pretty nice (only free-font I've listed so far :P) My fonts of choice has gone from "yuck, I don't have any good fonts on my computer" til "yuck, so many fugly free-fonts". Oh well, there are still some gems out there, and all things concidered, font choice follows what its used for. Helvetica wouldn't be your font of choice when designing a wedding invite etc. Oh well, my typography-teacher said we shouldn't use helvetica, we live in a confusing world of design, without right or wrongs. It's not supposed to be easy is it? edit: this is a good post to show that century gothic is a beautiful font but doesn't work that well on screen in small sizes ![]()
