New Order 1981 by Peter Saville is my current favorite sans, it's just so pretty, it with many others are available from his site. For a while my favorite serif was Minion Std Blk, I dont know why but I just couldn't keep away from it, looked good everywhere.

by the way, Peter Saville fonts are licensed so they can't be used commercially as far as I know

Some to mention that I like, would be: Bauhaus, Helvetica neue and District Thin.

I love Centhury Gothic and a font called Newcastle.
Newcastle was downloaded for free, but it looks like it was removed for free download. Sorry about that.
